Margarita Recipes For Your Next Fiesta

One of my favorite food/chef bloggers is Gaby Dalkin from Whats Gaby Cooking. Her California inspired recipes are tried and true and her photos are swoon worthy too.

On this next installment for planning the BEST Cinco de Mayo party I feature two margarita recipes from Whats Gaby Cooking.

One is my favorite cocktail of all time the skinny margarita.

  • 5 ounces tequila
  • 5 ounces freshly squeezed citrus juice, orange, blood orange, tangerine, satsuma, grapefruit
  • 3 ounces lime juice
  • 2 teaspoons agave nectar
  • splash of sparkling water

  1. Run a wedge of lime across the top of 2 cocktail glasses. Once damp, coat the rim in salt.
  2. Add all the ingredients except the sparkling water into a cocktail shaker with a few cubes of ice. Shake for 30 seconds until chilled and then strain the margaritas into serving glasses with new ice. Top with a splash of sparkling water in each glass and serve immediately.

And the other is sure to be a guest favorite the strawberry jalapeño margarita.

  • 12 strawberries, green tops removed
  • 1 thinly sliced ring of jalapeno pepper (about 1/2 inch thick)
  • 2 limes, juiced
  • 2 tablespoons agave nectar
  • 4 ounces silver/blanco tequila

  1. Combine the strawberries and jalapeño pepper in a small blender and blend until smooth. Pour the contents of the blender in a shaker.
  2. Add the lime juice, agave nectar and tequila and a handful of ice. Secure the lid on the shaker and shake for 30-60 seconds to mix and chill the margarita.
  3. Strain the juice out and serve over ice.

Hope you enjoy these recipes!
