Watermelon feta bites are the easiest appetizers and perfect for your next summer soiree.
In honor of National Watermelon Day today I wanted to talk about all things WATERMELON! It’s no secret my family and I love this summer staple. So much so I’ve made a healthy No Bake Watermelon Cake for the kids and used watermelon as decor in my DIY Watermelon Flower Centerpiece.
How to Pick the Perfect Watermelon:
If you’re looking to cut calories but still want to have your cake, this all natural watermelon cake is what you need. My sister in law had gestational diabetes during her second pregnancy. So when it came to celebrating her birthday she decided she still wanted cake but not the traditional kind. Thats where this no bake watermelon cake came into fruition.
All the kids(and me!) were so excited you would think it was a real birthday cake! I’ve never seen watermelon disappear so quickly!
I love having flowers when entertaining. I think they elevate any gathering from plain to whimsical and elegant. And today I have the EASIEST and most playful centerpiece to arrange when entertaining during the summer. You can arrange this quickly for your outdoor bbq or pool party and guests are sure to swoon!
Seriously nothing says summer moe than watermelons! But you can even use other fruits like cantaloupe, pineapple, or honeydew.
- one mini seedless watermelon (I purchase mine from Costco)
- Sharp knife
- 1-2 dozen flower of your choice (carnations, roses, alstroemeria) pink to white hues tend to look best
- Scissors or floral snips
- Begin by cutting off the top of your watermelon using a knife. I simply chose a spot a few inches down from the top of the watermelon and cut off the top, working to keep my cut a fairly consistent line all the way around.
